A quick and easy pattern, great for beginners

Flattering skirts with an easy fit to suit all figure types and ages. You’ll whip these skirts up in no time as there are no button holes, zippers or tricky bits. There are 2 styles to choose from and both have the option of a high or low waist yoke that are finished with a comfortable elastic waist.

Note: Fabric requirements are based on 112 cm (44") wide woven light to medium weight cotton fabric such as
patchwork fabrics, linen or linen and cotton blends.

Requirements for the Salsa Skirt

Main Fabric: 2.8 m (3 ¼ yards) for all sizes

25 mm (1") wide elastic: 1 m (1 y) for all sizes

Matching all purpose sewing thread

Note: This skirt is made up of 2 x 42" (107 cm) squares with holes cut in the centre that attach to the yoke. The 42" squares will result in a ¾ length skirt but will be slightly shorter for the larger sizes.

For a longer skirt, purchase 3 m (3 ½ yards) of a 1.5 m (60") wide fabric and cut larger squares.

Requirements for the Simple A line Skirt

Main Fabric: 1.6 m for all sizes (2 yards)

Or for a longer skirt, purchase 2 x your desired length.

25 mm (1") wide elastic: 1 m (1 y) for all sizes

Matching all purpose sewing thread

Additional requirements for both styles

A medium size safety pin or bodkin to thread the elastic
